Research on print (postcard)

We recently had the notes given to us for the print part of our project, and for the short film, we have to create an advertising post card to hand out at a festival or before a festival to attract people to come and watch!

I'm honestly not too overwhelmed about this part of the project, it seems pretty fun designing an advertisement that will get people to come to a show. I also am really into marketing and the methods used to capture peoples attention (future career idea???)

Here's my beautiful aesthetic notes I took

Thankfully, the short film print isn't as much work as the magazine looks to be, but it still will take some time to create. I was thinking of putting the artwork I made on the back of the postcard, and a thumbnail after we film, but it will be of 'The Subject', something cool and eye catching. I also think if we mess around a lot with the colors it could look REALLY crisp. I also want to keep it short and concise, not too much words and nonsense, because if I was handed something with words and nonsense I would NOT look at it.

So some examples I found and really liked are...

Here are two student examples from Mrs. Stoklosa's website , and I really like the minimal text on the second one, and the layout and look of the first one. I want to do something similar to these in relation to content and look wise. Their blogs are in the URL if you want to go and check them out too! (I find myself stalking a lot)

I haven't really thought about the specifics on the film festival we want to show it at, especially the types, but I'm pretty sure that's detail for much later (like a week) down the line!

I am excited to get started on this part of the project, but I need to get through the filming first... so back to that we go!
