Yesterday we held group meetings in class and reflected on each of our projects, offering some constructive criticisms!
I got some pretty good advice on my own project, and they all really loved our concept! The main takeaway points were to
-Make sure the plot stays concise
-Make sure there's no loopholes
-Focus on our main message
At one point we spoke about how we should be careful in portraying the maid and robots relationship, we can't make it seem like he has achieved full happiness with her, as there would be no point towards the ending of the film where he kills himself.
Another point they gave me was something to show the change within the main character throughout the movie. For example, he should have a break in his routine and how he acts to symbolize how he becomes more human rather than programmed. I really liked this idea and think I could talk with Daniela about it and how to integrate it into our production!
I also think these meetings helped me see into other peoples projects and where they are at with their productions. I also got to realize that I need to broaden my view about the stylistic choices I can make with my production, and that sometimes my own perspective is very limited upon the story line.
I really want to continue updating others on my project so they can keep in check if my project is staying on track with the original ideas. I also think that getting others opinions is always a vital part to creating something because you can get unique perspectives on the matter to help bring your project to its fullest extent.
Finally, I also realized how much of my production will take place POST filming as I have so much work to do for the social media page and the editing process, we really want to strengthen those aspects of our project and I think that we need to make a layout for the social media as well as post filming!
